COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Remove old compressor. Unsweat all tubes from the old compressor. Do not cut them off. 2. Remove the start capacitor. 3. Remove the start relay. Note: If the old compressor was a Copeland model: • Cut 2” off of the suction line. • Remove the three compressor leads from the ice machine. • Remove the two remaining leads from the start relay from the ice machine. • Install six new wires (included in kit) following wiring diagram (included in kit). 4.
Slip copper extensions into TXV and swaged ends onto existing lines and sweat into place. 7. When TXV is cool, slip rubber boot over TXV and glue seam together. 8. These can be installed together or separately to eliminate the possibility of water tracking on the bottom of the left or right evaporator brackets to the back wall where it could flow into the ice bin instead of back into the water trough. INSTALLATION OF LEFT AND RIGHT CLIPS 1. Remove bin switch from its mounting position (depress locking tab and slide bin switch out). 2. Slide right side clip onto right evaporator bracket, as shown. It will extend from the left sidewall past the water inlet fitting. 1. Remove screws (right and left side) that secure the evaporator to the bulkhead. 2. Determine bin switch wire location and cut a slot in the top edge of the Mylar strip (adhesive edge = top). 3. Apply silicone sealant at the bin switch wire entrance and the left side corner (4” each direction) where the base and bulkhead meet. 4. Pull evaporator away from bulkhead.
