SCF commands to start the ACS subsystem. See Restarting the Subsystem in Chapter 6.
New Pathsend library.
q
The TS/MP 2.1 Pathsend library replaces the TS/MP 2.0
Pathsend library. Although the two Pathsend libraries function similarly, they are
internally different and cannot be used interchangeably.
New SCF commands.
q
The SCF interface includes a new set of commands to manage the
configuration and operation of the ACS subsystem. For information about managing ACS
subsystems, see Chapter 6, Managing the ACS Subsystem and Chapter 7, SCF Command
Reference for the ACS Subsystem.
New SCF error messages.
q
The SCF interface for the ACS subsystem returns a new set
of error messages specific to the subsystem. For information about the SCF error
messages, see Chapter 9, SCF Error Messages.
EMS event messages.
q
The ACS subsystem generates a set of EMS event messages that
augment the EMS messages generated by TS/MP 2.0. All current TS/MP 2.0 EMS
messages remain the same. However, in TS/MP 2.1, applications that check for specific
LINKMON EMS events messages (for example, management applications) may no
longer encounter these messages under identical conditions. In addition, new ACS EMS
event messages may provide improved notification of problems. For information about
the ACS subsystem event tokens, see Chapter 10, ACS EMS Event Tokens. For a
detailed description of the ACS subsystem EMS event messages, see the Operator
Messages Manual.
New Pathsend API errors.
q
The TS/MP 2.1 Pathsend API returns a new set of errors.
However, all former LINKMON-related Pathsend API errors that are required for
functional compatibility are now supplied by the the ACS subsystem; minimal, if any,
updates to your applications are needed. For information about the ACS subsystem
Pathsend API errors, see Chapter 8, Pathsend Errors.
905 (FESCNoServerLinkAvailable) errors.
q
You may see an increased frequency of
905 (FESCNoServerLinkAvailable) errors due to the different handling of work load
distribution.
The ACS subsystem provides two processes (the redirector and the process broker) that
functionally replace the single ROUT process in TS/MP 2.0. The ACS subsystem returns
error 905 when the following sequence occurs:
The redirector process needs a link for a request and asks the process broker for a
1.
link
The process broker cannot get it from the PATHMON process.
2.
However, at the same time, the redirector process is returning a link that the
3.
process broker cannot process yet.
In this situation, the ACS subsystem is not aware of the waiting available link and returns
