The location should be away from strong draft areas. Do not obstruct flow of combustion and ventilation air. Clearance to combustible construction for built-in outdoor side burners: ¦ A minimum of 24" (58 cm) must be maintained between the sides and back and any combustible construction. ¦ A zero clearance may be maintained below the cooking surface and any combustible construction. Ignition A grounded, 3-prong outdoor GFI outlet is to be located inside the island cabinet and to the left of the side burner. See “Electrical Requirements” section. (11.1 cm) H. 17" (43.2 cm) G Built-In Outdoor Side Burner Enclosure This built-in outdoor side burner is for installation in a built-in enclosure constructed of combustible and non-combustible materials. Some types of non-combustible materials could be brick, firewall or steel. Some types of combustible materials could be wood or laminate. The enclosure for the built-in outdoor side burner is to be a minimum of 11" (28.0 cm) high x 23" (58.4 cm) deep x 14" (35.6 cm) wide for front to back model and 11" (28.0 cm) high x 17" (43.2 cm) deep x 25" (63.5 cm) wide for side by side model. Cabinet Dimensions Counter or support surfaces must be level. The installation of this side burner must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with either the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NPFA 54, Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1, or Propane Storage and Handling Code, B149.2.
