Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else. This appliance is designed for domestic use or for use in non-commercial, household- like environments. Household- like environments include, for example, use in staff kitchens in shops, offices, agricultural and other small businesses, as well as use by guests at bed-and-breakfast establishments, small hotels and similar residential facilities. Danger of electric shock and fire! Connect and operate the appliance only according to the type plate specifications. Children younger than 8 years may not operate the appliance. These appliances may be used by children aged 8 years and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or who lack experience and / or knowledge if they are supervised or have been given instruction in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the dangers involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision. Do not use if the power cord or appliance show any signs of damage. Unplug after every use or if defective. To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a damaged cord, must only be carried out by our customer service personnel. The power cord . must not touch hot parts; . must not be pulled over sharp edges; . must not be used as a carrying handle. Only use on dry hair; under no circumstances use the appliance on artificial hair. Do not use near water contained in bath tubs, sinks or other containers. Risk of fatal injury! Never allow the appliance to come into contact with water. Even an appliance that has been switched off poses a danger; therefore unplug the appliance after every use or when interrupted in its use. Installing a ground fault circuit interrupter up to 30 mA in the house offers additional protection. Please consult an electrician. Risk of suffocation! Do not allow children to play with packaging material. Caution! The styling nozzle and diffuser can become hot. Allow them to cool down before detaching. PARTS AND OPERATING CONTROLS 1. SC8399 / SC8393) OPERATION NEVER cover the blower or air intake opening and ensure that the intake opening does not get blocked with lint or hair. If the appliance overheats, e.g. due to a covered ventilation opening, it will automatically switch off. It will be usable again after several minutes. To dry hair, select the highest blower setting and a high temperature. Keep the air outlet approx. 10 cm from your head. care FUNCTION ( Mod. SC8393) The care setting dries air especially gently. CONCENTRATOR For drying/styling specific parts of the hair. Nozzle should not touch the hair; select a gentle blower setting at a low temperature. DIFFUSER Ideal for smooth or stressed hair. Thickens fine, long or semi-long hair. Place pins directly on the scalp and distribute the air flow by circular movements. Set air flow to medium to high. Fig 1 and Fig 2 DRYING 1-2 STYLING 1-2 care (mod. SC8393) SETTING 1-2 ION FUNCTION (Mod. SC8399 / SC8393) This hair dryer features an ion generator. Ions are naturally occurring electrically charged particles. These make hair softer and easier to comb. “Flying” hair is also reduced. Fig 5. If you switch the hair dryer on (the ion indication light comes on) the ion function is active. Fig 4. COOL SHOT BUTTON The cool shot button is ideal for styling and fixing the hair after drying. It can be switched on at any setting. You may have to wait a few seconds after pressing the button for cool air. When the button is released the hair dryer will return to its normal operation. Fig 3. STORAGE The hanging loop allows hanging up the appliance for storage. Do not wind up the power cord too tight! MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning and storing. Before cleaning the appliance, pull out the mains plug. Let the hair dryer and the accessories cool down. Never immerse the appliance into water. Do not use a steam cleaner. The hair dryer does not need any special attention and it is sufficient to periodically wipe the outside cover with a damp cloth. Turn the air inlet grille counterclockwise to remove it for cleaning. Fig 6. Use a soft paint brush for cleaning. Hand wash the nozzle, diffuser, and air inlet grille in warm water, rinse and air dry. Replace the filter on the square mounting peg in the back of the hair dryer. Fig 7. Turn the air inlet grille clockwise to lock it in place. Fig 8. ADVICE ON DISPOSAL: Our goods come in optimised packaging.
