Resetting Interface Controllers to default settings
If you are installing an Interface Manager card into an existing library configuration for the
first time, or if you are installing a previously used Interface Controller into a library that
already has an Interface Manager card, you must restore the default factory configuration
settings of the Interface Controller(s) to enable the cards to function properly with the
Interface Manager card.
To reset the Interface Controller to its default settings, complete the following steps before
before connecting any Ethernet cables between the Interface Manager card and the Interface
Controller(s):
Caution: The following procedure will overwrite any existing configuration set ings and
cause any currently running backups to fail.
Note: Restoring the default settings using the serial interface enables DHCP mode. DHCP mode must
be set manual y if default settings are restored using the web interface.
1. Log in to the Interface Controller using a serial connection.
■
For an e1200-160 Interface Controller, connect the RJ-11 to DB9 cable from the
Interface Controller to the serial port on your computer.
■
For an e2400-160 Interface Controller or e2400-FC 2G Interface controller, connect
the 3 pin to DB9 cable from the Interface Controller to the serial port on your
computer.
2. Start a terminal program and connect using the following settings:

115,200 bits per second
■
8 data bits
■
No parity
■
1 stop bit
■
Xon/Xoff flow control
3. Press Enter twice to start the connection.
4. Enter 1—Perform Configuration.
5. Enter C—Reset to Factory Defaults.
6. Press y to continue when prompted.
7. Reboot the Interface Controller.
a.
From the main menu, press 4—Reboot.
b.
Press y to continue when prompted.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 for all remaining Interface Controllers.
9. If installing an Interface Manager card into the library card cage, power off the library and
complete the hardware installation procedures, otherwise, simply power off the library.
10. Connect the ethernet cables between the Interface Controllers and the Interface Manager
card.
11. If the library has been powered off, power on the entire library.
