Hold the button down to scroll quickly through the characters. Press RESET to clear a label. The TV can store up to 27 labels in memory. Auto Tuning Displays a choice list that lets you set up the TV to automatically tune to the correct input channel when you press a component button (VCR1, DVD, VCR2, AUX or SAT•CABLE) on the remote. Set VCR 1 Channel Displays a choice list that lets you select the channel that the TV tunes to when you press the VCR1 button. Channel 2 (SAT/Cable only) Choose this if your component is connected to the antenna jack on the back of the TV, and you want the TV to tune to channel 2 when you press the specified component button. Reminder: Make sure the component’s Ch 2/3/4 switch is set to channel 2. Channel 3 Choose this if your component is connected to the antenna jack on the back of the TV, and you want the TV to tune to channel 3 when you press the specified component button. Time Menu Sleep Timer Displays a control panel that lets you select the amount of time you want to give the TV before it shuts itself off. Schedule Displays a control panel that lets you set up a schedule for turning the TV on and off automatically. Make sure to turn the schedule on. The first three choices in the Parental Controls menu involve software inside your TV (dubbed V-Chip) which allows you to “block” TV programs and movies based on violence, sex, or other content you may believe children should not view. In other words, it lets you program your TV so it will not display certain programs. Once you block programs, you or other adults are not limited to only parent-approved programs; you can “unblock” programs by entering a password. The software inside your TV comes turned “off,” so if you choose not to implement it, you can just ignore it. When turned “on,” the software reads a code that most broadcasters send with programs. That code tells the software the program’s age-based rating (TV-MA, TV-14, etc.) and content themes (Violence (V), Adult Language (L), etc.). If you have blocked the rating and/or content themes that the program contains, you will receive the message, “This channel is not approved for viewing,” when you turn to that particular channel.
