Comb the hair and divide it into even, flat strands about 2 to 3 cm wide. . Make sure that adjacent strands are slightly offset. . Attach the upper strands to the top of the head with hair clips; start the styling process with the lower strands (Fig. 1). . Insert a strand of hair at the upper third into the gap in the heating element. For easier threading, make sure that you hold the wave iron with the longer end of the heating element facing down (Fig. 2). . Hold the strand of hair at its end and wrap it once around the tongs of the heating element in a figure-eight (Fig. 3). . Push the wave iron towards the hair roots (Fig. 4). . Weave the rest of the strand around in a figure-eight shape. . Treat the woven strand of hair for approximately six seconds; keep holding the strand at the tip (Fig. 5). . Now pull the strand sideways from the wave iron (Figures 6 and 7). . Put the wave in its proper position right away, keep it in place with a hair clip and let it cool. . Treat all strands in the same manner. . When all strands have been treated, style the hair with a large-toothed comb or with your fingers. Important: If you have long hair, use the entire surface of the heating element. This spreads the heat evenly through the hair and delivers better styling results. Tip: The longer the strand remains in place around the wave iron, the wavier it becomes. For more detailed styling examples, consult the enclosed illustrations.
