-If no key is pressed within 30 seconds, you have to start again at step 1. -If no correct code is in the list, go to the next paragraph. You do not know the brand of your equipment/ you can not find the right code in the code list » auto search: 1 Be sure your device is switched on. 2 Press and hold keys mute and power simultaneously -for about three seconds- until the green LED lights up. (Release the keys: the green LED should stay on) 3 Press the power key repeatedly until the equipment switches off. Make sure that you keep the remote control pointed at your equipment. – Each time the green LED flashes, another code is sent. When the right code is found, the equipment switches off. If you accidentally press the power key again, after the equipment switched off, you miss the correct code! If you accidentally skipped the code follow the next procedure starting at step 4. If you did not skip the code go to step 7. 4 Switch the equipment manually back on. PROG 5 Press ‘PROG–’ (down only!) a couple of times. 6 Press the power key repeatedly until the equipment switches off. 7 Press the mute key to lock the correct code in the SBC RU120’s memory. – The green LED flashes twice. CHECK Switch equipment on manually. Press a few keys to check correct response. If response is not correct, repeat procedure beginning at step 1. NOTE -The search time averages about 90 seconds. (Maximum search time is 5 minutes). - If the LED blinks twice, after you pressed the power key (step 3), this means you have tried all codes. If non of the codes worked, try the Autosearch procedure again, starting at step 1. 4 Instructions for use XP SBC RU 120 16-06-2000 10:29 Pagina 5 XP SBC RU 120 16-06-2000 10:29 Pagina 5 + PROG PROG VOL + VOL POWER/DIGIT TOGGLE Even when your TV can be activated by using a digit key only (e.g. digit number 1) instead of using the power key, you need to install the "Power/Digit Toggle" function. After you installed this function, the power key will send out the "power on/off" code, the first time you press the "power" key and the "digit 1" code when you press the "power" key for the second time. In this way it is possible to activate your TV even when it responds to digit codes only. To install this "Power/Digit Toggle" function, follow the following procedure: 1 Look up the "Power/Digit toggle" code in the code list (centre of this manual). 2 Press and hold power and mute keys simultaneously – for about three seconds – until the green LED lights up. (Release the keys: the green LED should stay on). 3 Enter the 6 digit "Power toggle" code within 30 seconds. – The green LED flashes twice. Follow the same procedure to cancel the "Power/Digit toggle" function. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE • Problem: – Solution: • Equipment is not responding and the green light does not flash when you press a button. – Replace batteries with two new 1.5 volt, type RO3, UM4 or AAA batteries. • Equipment is not responding, but the green light does flash when you press a button. – Aim the SBC RU120 at the equipment and be sure that there are no obstructions between the SBC RU120 and the equipment. • The SBC RU120 is not performing commands properly. – You may be using the wrong code.
