The TURBO ON/OFF Switch allows you to select either of the two types of the effects. That is, usual delicate overdrive sound when TURBO is OFF, and powerful overdrive sound nearly as strong as distortion when ON. The TURBO ON mode also allows a natural feedback effect with little howling. OD-2 TURBO Over Drive INSTRUCTIONS AC a. BATTERY POWERED Please read these instructions carefully. PANEL DESCRIPTIONS AC ADAPTOR JACK LEVEL •- OUTPUT JACK •- PEDAL SWITCH TURBO OverDrive 002 INDICATOR TURBO ON/OFF OVER DRIVE TONE INPUT JACK THUMB SCREW AC ADAPTOR JACK This is to connect the AC Adaptor(BOSS ACA-120,220 or 240) for AC operation. LEVEL Use this knob to minimize the volume difference between the normal and effect sounds. Rotating it clockwise will increase the volume of the overdrive sound. TONE This controls the tone color. As you rotate the knob clockwise, the higher frequencies are emphasized, and counterclockwise, the higher frequencies are cut off. OVER DRIVE This controls the amount of the overdrive sound. Rotating it clockwise will increase and counterclockwise will decrease the amount. TURBO ON/OFF This switch can be used to select either of the overdrive effects. When it is off, usual delicalte overdrive sound is obtained, and when on, the overdrive sound nearly as strong as the distrotion can be obtained. OUTPUT JACK Connect an amplifier to this jack. PEDAL SWITCH Press the pedal to turn the effect on, and press it again to turn it off. * Adopting the FET switching system, the OD-2 is free from click noise making useful for studio recording. INDICATOR This lights up when the unit is in the effect mode. It also serves as battery check indicator; if it lights dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. INPUTJACK Connect a musical instrument or audio equipment to this jack. THUMB SCREW Loosen this to open the pedal for battery replacement. * Do not remove the screw from the pedal, or you may lose it. IMPORTANT NOTES • When operating the OD-2 from the AC line, use the BOSS ACA Series Adaptor. • Avoid using the OD-2 in extreme heat, humidity or where it may be affected by dust. CONNECTIONS Amplifier To AC Adaptor Jack The OD-2 is turned on by plugging in. BOSS AC Adaptor (ACA-120, 220 or 240) Electric guitar BOSS OD-2 If the OD-2 is not to be used, disconnect the connection cable from the Input Jack. OPERATION After making all the necessary connections, set the panel as shown left. Press the Pedal Switch and make sure the Indicator lights up. If it does not light up, press the pedal once again. * This indicator also serves as battery check indicator, if it lights dimmer or does not light at all, battery replacement is required. If you want a powerful overdrive effect, turn the TURBO Switch on. To reduce the volume difference between the direct and overdrive sounds, adjust the volume of the overdrive sound with the LEVEL Knob. Set the OVER DRIVE Knob to an appropriate position. Rotate the TONE Knob while playing the guitar to make the tone color you prefer. BATTERY REPLACEMENT 9V BATTERY PEDAL (COVER) ! —THUMB SCREW SPRING BASE COIL SPRING BATTERY CONNECTOR BATTERY STRAP PEDAL GUIDE BATTERY HOUSING USE 9V BATTERY O Loosen the screw and open the Pedal. ©Take out the battery from the Battery Housing and pull up the Battery Strap. €> Connect a new battery to the Battery Strap, then put it in the Battery Housing. OPut the Coil Spring to the Spring Base and close the Pedal. * Make sure that the Battery Strap is not caught in the Pedal or Coil Spring. 0 Firmly tighten the screw. PRECAUTONS • When the OD-2 is not in use for a long period, remove the battery to prevent the trouble caused by the battery leakage. • If the battery voltage drops, effect becomes dull or no sound is produced. To prevent that, replace the battery, at the time you might think too early. AC ADAPTOR(OPTION) • Be sure to keep the battery securely connected even while using the AC Adaptor, then the OD-2 will continued to operate even if the AC Adaptor cord comes out during performance. • Unplug the cord from the INPUT jack when the OD-2 is not in use to avoid wasting the battery. BOSS ACA-120 For 1 17V AC BOSS ACA-240 For 240V AC Please be sure to use the BOSS AC Adaptor ACA-120, 220 or 240 depending on the line voltage in your country. Using any other adaptor will cause trouble.
