Only trained, qualified installers and service techniciansshould install, start up, and service this equipment. When working on air-conditioning equipment, observeprecautions in the literature, on tags, stickers, and labelsattached to the equipment. Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and workgloves. Use care in handling and installing this accessory. Be sure power to equipment is shut off before performinginstallation, maintenance or service. Lock out and safety- tag all disconnects. Be aware that there may be more thanone disconnect. Serious personal injury from electric shockcould result. GENERAL This accessory provides required components to integratecontrol of an external pump into the 30XA chiller control. Aspart of the chiller control, the pump will be commanded onor off based on the chiller operation. The pump will also bemonitored through the chiller control for its status. Any corresponding alarms will be reported if the pump does not operatenormally. One accessory package is required for 30XA080-500 units. INSTALLATION Examine the package contents for correct part numbers. Ifany of the components are missing or damaged, file a claimwith the shipping company and notify your Carrier representative. See Table 1 for accessory package contents. Refer toFig. 1-3 for wiring details, and see Fig. 4 and 5 for boardmounting locations. Disconnect unit power. 2. Set the board address switch on the pump board as shownin Fig. 2. Mount the pump board in the main control panelwith the No. 8 screws. See Fig. 4 and 5 for the boardmounting location. NOTE: Mounting standoffs are required for 30XA080120 units, 200/230, 380v and 30XA140-500 units, allvoltages. 3. Mount the 24 v circuit breaker (CB14) in the CB14mounting hole on the display mounting bracket. SeeFig. 4 and 5 for the mounting hole location. The displaymounting bracket can be easily removed by loosening thefour mounting screws on the corners. 4. Connect the 24 v power from TB10-X1 (30XA080-120units, 460/575 v only) or TB11-X1 (all other units andvoltages) to CB14 with a red wire in the harness assembly(Item 2). Find a 2-pin plug marked J1-11,12 with a redwire and a brown wire in the harness assembly. Connectthe plug to the pump board J1. On the other end, connectthe red wire from the plug to CB14 and the brown wire toTB10-X2 (30XA080-120 units, 460/575 v only) orTB11-X2 (all other units and voltages). Refer to Fig. 1. 5. Connect TB5-11, 13 to pump board CH1 and TB5-13, 15to pump board CH2 per Fig. 2 with the harness assemblyprovided (Item 2). Use the pins on the back of TB5. NOTE: If only one pump is available in the system (nobackup pump), the wiring for pump board CH2 is notrequired. 6. For 30XA080-120, 200/230 v, 380 v and all 30XA140-500units, disconnect the 3-pin plug on MBB (main base board) J9B (or EMM board J9A) for communication and plug it into the pump board J9. Use the communication cable assembly (Item 6) to connect between pump board J9 and MBBJ9B (or EMM board J9A when EMM board exists). Thecommunication cable in the TH70400864 harness will not be used. For 30XA080-120, 460 v, and 575 v units, connect the 3-pin plug of the communication cable in the harnessassembly (Item 2) to the pump board J9 and splice the otherend of the cable to the communication network using thewire nuts provided (Item 7). Be sure to splice the wireswith the same color together to ensure correct polarity.
