WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS • Do not try to light any appliance. • Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building. • Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas supplier's instructions. • If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department. Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier. THIS APPLIANCE MAY BE INSTALLED IN AN AFTERMARKET* MANUFACTURED (MOBILE) HOME, WHERE NOT PROHIBITED BY STATE OR LOCAL CODES. *Aftermarket: Completion of sale, not for purpose of resale, from the manufacturer. Improper installation or use of the heater can cause serious injury or death from fire, burns, explosion or carbon monoxide poisoning.WARNING 1. CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING: Early signs of carbon monoxide poisoning are similar to the flu with headaches, dizziness and/or nausea. If you have these signs, obtain fresh air immediately. Have the heater serviced as it may not be operating properly. 2. The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1. 3. The 9740N/9740L vent-free gas heater system cannot be installed in a bedroom. 4. Do not install the heaters in a bathroom. 5. WARNING: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause injury or property damage. Refer to this owner's manual.
