Starting second hand movement and digital display To conserve battery power, the watch is shipped from the factory with its functions disabled. Pressing any one of the watch’s three buttons will activate its functions, which will cause the second hand to start moving and the digital display to activate. TACHYMETER Your watch switches automatically between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time (summer time). Note, however, that switching cannot be performed correctly if the watch is not able to receive the time calibration signal. If you notice that the current time is not displayed properly, use the procedure under “To perform manual receive” or “To set the time and date manually” to correct it. This watch does not have a Time Zone that corresponds to the Greenwich Mean Time differential of –3.5 hours. Because of this, the radio-controlled atomic timekeeping function will not display the correct time for Newfoundland, Canada.
