UV AIR PURIFIER PURIFICATEUR D’AIR UV TIPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Solution • Unit will not operate 4 Make sure the unit is plugged in and outlet is energized. 4 Make sure unit is turned ON. The unit has safety features in place to ensure unit is ready for operation: 4 Ensure rear grill is installed correctly and is flush with the unit 4 Ensure HEPA filters are inserted in correct orientation with metal tabs facing inwards • Decreased air flow 4 Make sure nothing is blocking air inlet and filtered air outlets. 4 Remove all plastic bags from filters. 4 Check condition of filters and clean if necessary. • HEPA filter appears dirty, even after vacuuming clean 4 This is normal and does not affect performance in any way. A new filter is not necessary. • Excessive noise 4 Remove plastic bags from filters. 4 Make sure parts are firmly positioned in place. • The filter service indicator ( ) still appears on LCD display even after cleaning 4 Ensure that you reset the filter service indicator properly (see "Reinstalling The Filter After Cleaning" section in this manual). Should the filter become damaged during cleaning or you require any replacement parts contact our Consumer Service Department at 1-800-253-2764. Do not defeat this safety feature. 4. After replacing the filters, RESET the Filter Service Indicator by inserting a small object (such as a pin or paper clip) into the hole located on the control panel (see Figure 2,G) continuously for 5 seconds. The Filter Service Indicator icon ( ) will disappear from the LCD display. Cleaning The Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) Filter: It is recommended that you clean the PCO filter every 3 months for optimal performance. 1. Remove the HEPA filters. 2. Gently remove the PCO filter retainer (red plastic insert) from the housing (see Figure 8). 3. Remove the PCO filter. 4. Gently rinse the PCO filter in the sink for approximately 5 seconds. Do not scrub or use any detergents to clean the filter. Allow filter to air dry before reinstalling in the unit. Replacing the ultraviolet (UV) bulb The UV-C light bulb is designed to last up to 8000 hours, which is almost a full year of continuous use. Over time, with use the 8 watt UV-C bulb will lose some intensity. We recommend you replace the UV-C bulb once every year. You will know when it is time to change the bulb when it continuously flickers or you no longer see a glow at the back of the unit. To replace the UV Bulb, follow the below instructions: 1.
