Write the ID number on the tape’s label strip. * If the TV is off when tape is ejected, you can confirm the tape ID number by turning on the TV and inserting the tape. CD The INDEX Plus* switch on the VCR is ON. • The INDEX Plus+ feature will not work with tapes dubbed from an INDEX Plus+ tape. INDEX Plus+ Switch Display INDEX Plus+ Tape Contents @1' ' Insert an INDEX Plus+ tape. The VCR checks for index data. When data is found, the normal screen appears. Go to step 2. NOW READING TAPE NO. If INDEX Plus* Data is Not Found If the current tape position is blank, erased, or has a non-indexed recording, the screen at right will appear. Follow the alternate steps below. (X) Push the 2 NUMBERED key to select INDEX Plus+ TAPE. (S) Rotate and push the WHEEL to select and set the correct ID number from the list. (See tape’s label strip.) Push the WHEEL to confirm tape contents are correct. Go to step 3. If incorrect, push ERASE and repeat B and C. Depending on title length, the library memory can store up to about 300 titles. You may delete or change any title in your library. To ensure that library data is not permanently lost due to moving the VCR, a power outage, etc., there is a memory restoration feature. si, Check list before you begin □ The INDEX Plus+ switch on the VCR is set to ON. INDEX Plus+ switch Using the INDEX Plus* Library Below is a description of library functions. SEARCH Use when you want to look up the contents of any INDEX Plus+ tape. You can do this by entering the tape ID number or program title. (See below.) DELETE Use to erase a title from the library. “BLANK" will appear in the TITLE column along with the time. By looking up “BLANK” in the library, you can find a spot to record over programs that are no longer wanted. When all the titles of a tape have been deleted, that tape ID number is automatically erased from memory. (See page 25.) EDIT TITLE Sometimes title data is not available from the broadcast company. In that case, the VCR automatically lists the channel number, time, length, and speed of the recording. With the edit title function, you can manually put in the title. (See page 26.) RESTORATION _Use to restore the library memory in case of an extended power outage, etc..
