x A distance of 40cm between you and the camera (microphone) is the best distance to record sound. x If the camera power is turned off while the voice recording is paused, the voice recording is cancelled. Recording the movie without voice [Voice recording mode] You can record the movie without a voice. Select [On] of [Voice Mute] menu in the Movie mode. (.) icon will appear on the LCD monitor. Press the Shutter button and a movie without voice will record for as long as the memory capacity allows. RECORDING Voice Mute Off On Back Set SCENE mode Use the menu to easily confi gure optimal settings for a variety of shooting situations. Press the MENU button and select a desired sub menu. K Refer to page 23 for more information. Starting play mode Turn the camera on and select Play mode by pressing the play mode button (.). The camera can now play back the images stored in the memory. If the memory card is inserted in the camera, all the camera functions apply only to the memory card. If the memory card is not inserted in the camera, all the camera functions apply only to the internal memory. Playing back a still image 1. Select the PLAY mode by pressing the play mode button (.). 2. The last image stored on the memory is displayed on the LCD monitor. 3. Select an image that you want to view by pressing the Left / Right button. K Press and hold the Left or Right button to play back the images quickly. Playing back a movie 1. Select the recorded movie that you want to play back by using the Left/Right button. 2. Press the play & pause button (.) to play back a movie fi le. - To pause a movie file while playing it back, press the play & pause button (.) again. Play Capture - Pressing the play & pause button (.) again will cause the movie file to restart. - To rewind the movie while it is playing, press the Left (REW)button. To fast forward the movie, press the Right (FF)button. - To stop playback of the movie, press the play & pause button (.), and then press the Left or Right button. Starting play mode Movie capture function You can capture still images from the movie. • How to capture the movie 1. Press the Play / Pause button (.) while playing the movie. Then press the E button. 2. The paused movie is saved in a new fi le name. K The captured movie file is the same size as the original movie (800x592, 640x480, 320x240). K When you press the E button at the beginning of the movie, the first frame of the movie will be saved as a still image. Trim Capture [Paused] [Press the E button] On camera movie trimming You can extract desired frames of movie during the movie play back. If the running time is under 10 seconds, the movie can’t be trimmed. 1. Press the Pause button (.) at the point of the movie where you want to start extracting. 2. Press the T button. 3. Press the Play & Pause button (.) and the extracted range will be displayed on the status bar. 4. Press the Play & Pause button (.) once more at the point where you wish the extracted file to stop. 5. Press the T button and a confi rmation window will be displayed. 6. Select a desired sub menu by pressing the Up/Down button and press the OK button. [No] : The movie trimming will be cancelled. [Yes] : The extracted frames are saved as a new fi le name. T T Trim Capture Trim Capture Trimming? No Yes Confirm x If you don’t specify the ending point of the movie, the trimming confirmation window will be displayed at the point of the last frame. Starting play mode Playing back a recorded voice 1. Select the recorded voice that you want to play back by using the Left/Right button. 2. Press the play & pause button (.) to play back a recorded voice fi le. - To pause a recorded voice fi le, while playing it back, press the play & pause button (.) again. Play -To resume playback of the voice file, press the play & pause button. - To rewind the voice file while it is playing, press the Left (REW)button.
