, We recommend that the equipment be Installed by expert personnel. [ 1 . INSTALLATION .~ This hood can be used as an extractor or a filtering unit. The unit must be fitted at a distance of at least 6S-70 cm. from the cooking hob. It must not be mounted above cookers fitted with top radiant plate, The contaminated air must be discharged in a manner complying with current regulations. . use the hardware supplied to install the unit (Fig. 1-2), A) Bar and screws for hanging and leveling, B) Retaining screws. C) Flue/wall bracket and securing screws. EXTRACTOR (fumes exhausted externally) Cooking fumes are conveyed away from the kitchen to the outdoor environment by way of ducting. Connect the tube with suitable diameter to the Junction supplied (Fig. 3)., The tube should have its outlet outside the house. This pipe must not under any circumstances be connected to cooker, boiler or burner exhaust pipes, etc, If the hood is operated in suction function whilst stoves, gas cookers, fuel-fed boilers, etc, are being used, ventilation from outdoors must be provided, The suction model hood is not fitted with a carbon filter, FILTER (internal sir recycle) In this Instance, cooking fumes directed up through the activated carbon filters are purified and returned as clean air to the kitchen. The air outlet must be unobstructed, and freely open tothe kitchen space (Fig. 4). Check that the carbon filters are installed by removing the metal covers as Illustrated (Fig, 5), 2. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS _• _ . This appliance must be connected to an earthed power supply. Two types of electrical connection can be used : 1) Using a standard plug connected to the power cable and inserted in a mains socket which must be accessible at all times (so that the plug can be disconnected when servicing Is carried out). 2) By means of a fixed mains connection, fitting a bipolar switch with contact openings of at least 3 mm. The ground connection (yellow-green wire) must not be Interrupted. 3 . OPERATION__^: The hood Is equipped with a multlspeed motor. It is recommended that low speed be selected for normal kitchen conditions, and higher speeds only to combat a heavy bui|d-up odours and vapours. The controls Include an ON/OFF switch for the built-in light, and a further switch for activating and selecting the runnlhg speed of the motor. An indicator light remains on as long as the motor Is In operation. 4 . iiiyiAINTENANCE ANP REMlNDERS , k -■ »S .. ■ :■ ' Always disconnect the heed from the electrical power supply before commencing any maintenance or cleaning operation. Particular care must be given to the grease filters, which serve to trap grease particles antramed in cooking vapours. The grease filters are metal, and must be washed at least once a month with warm water and detergent (dishwasher clean is sufficient). Dry throughly before refitting, ATTENTION; the grease collected In the filters can easily catch fire and It Is therefore extremely important to clean the metallic filter on a regular basis as per instructions. Grease filters are removed as illustred (Fig. 5). The function of activated carbon filters Is to prevent the spread of odours present In the cooking fumes. Clean air Is returned to the kitchen. Activated carbon filters cannot be washed or serviced, and must be replaced 2 or 3 times a year according to the amount of use. Spare filters are obtainable from dealers or direct from the manufacturer. Removal; detach the metal covers and rotate the carbon filters clockwise (Fig. 6) until free of the motor, Refitment; position the new carbon filters and reverse the procedure. The hood should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth using neutral liquid detergents. Do not use solvents, petroleum products or abrasives.
