The base of the pan could melt and damage the glass on the hob. In this case, do not touch the pan and switch the hotplate off. If it fails to work after it has cooled down, please contact the Technical Assistance Service. Pan detection Each hotplate has a minimum limit for detecting pans, which varies depending on the material of the pan being used. You should therefore use the hotplate that is most suitable for the diameter of your pan. The hotplates Hotplate $ Single hotplate Use a correctly sized pan. u Flexible hotplate See "flexible hotplate" section Only use pans suitable for induction cooking, see the "Appropriate cookware" section. Residual heat indicator Although the hob is switched off, the indicator oe or • will remain on for as long as the hotplate is hot. The hob has a residual heat indicator for each hotplate to show those which are still hot. Programming the hob This section will show you how to program the hotplates. The table contains power levels and cooking times for several dishes. Turning the hob on and off The hob is turned on and off using the main switch. To switch on: press the % symbol. The main switch indicator and the hotplate selection indicators light up. The hob is ready for use. To switch off: press the % symbol. The main switch indicator and the hotplate indicators turn off. The hob is switched off. The residual heat indicator will remain lit until the hotplates have cooled down sufficiently. Note: The hob turns off automatically when all of the hotplates are off for more than 15 seconds. Setting the hotplate Select the power level required with the 1 to 9 symbols. Power level 1 = minimum power Power level 9 = maximum power Each power level has an intermediate level. This level is marked with the U symbol in the programming zone. Selecting the power level The hob must be switched on. 1. Press the Aor $ symbol on the hotplate. Indicator ‹.‹ will come on. 2. Then press the required power level symbol. .. .. The power level has been set. Changing the power level Select the hotplate and then press the symbol for the desired power level. To select an intermediate level, press the U symbol that is between the power level symbols. Switch off the hotplate Select the hotplate and then press the power level symbol 0. Note: If no pan has been placed on the induction hotplate, the selected power level flashes. After a certain time, the hotplate switches off. Cooking guidelines table The table below contains some examples. Cooking times depend on the power level, type, weight and quality of the food. As such they are approximate. When heating purees, creams and thick sauces, stir occasionally. Use power level 9 to begin cooking.
