Do not operate the appliancewith the cover closed. Do not use the appliance coverfor placing objects or for keeping things warm. Safety during cleaning Risk of burns! The appliance becomes hot during operation. Allow the appliance to cool down beforecleaning. Risk of electric shock! Do not use high pressure washersor steam cleaners to clean the appliance. Safety during maintenance and repairs Risk of injury! In the event of a malfunction or if the appliance is damaged, unscrew the fuses ( or switch off the circuit breakers) . Contact the after- sales service. Risk of electric shock! Switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box if the ceramic has fractures, flaws or cracks. Call the after- sales service. Risk of injury! Considerable injuries may be caused byfaulty repairs. Repairs to the appliance must only becarried out by a trained technician. If a repair isrequired, please call the after- sales service. Risk of injury! A damaged electricity cable must bereplaced as soon as possible by the manufacturer, sales subsidiary, after- sales service or a trainedtechnician. Causes of damage Caution! – Scratches on the ceramic: rough pot and pan bases scratch the ceramic. – Salt, sugar or sand: salt, sugar or sand scratch the ceramic. Do not use the hob as a work surface or storage space. – Overheated pots or pans: avoid cooking on the hobwith an empty pan. – Hard and pointed objects: damage can occur ifhard or pointed objects fall on the hob. – Food spills: sugar or food containing sugar can damage the ceramic. Remove spills immediatelywith a glass scraper. – Foil and plastic: aluminium foil and plasticcontainers melt on heated hotplates. Oven protective foil is not suitable for your hob. – Unsuitable cleaning agents: iridiscent discolorationon the ceramic can be caused by unsuitable cleaning agents or the bases of certain pots or pans.
