• Select a level campsite clear of rocks, branches, and other hard or sharp objects, to install your tent. WARNING: Keep clear of overhead power lines. • Do not set up your tent under trees. • For best results in windy conditions, position end of tent into the wind. • Enlist the help of at least one other person to assist you when it is time to assemble the tent. Parts and Components Description Part Number Main Poles (2) 9240-1221 Front/Awning Poles, Gray (2) 9240-1231 Rainfly 9240-1241 To Set Up Tent 1. Unfold tent and spread out on a clean, level surface with the door facing the desired direction. Unzip door. 2. Assemble main tent poles by interlocking both longer, black shock-corded, poles. 3. Insert black poles through sleeves in top of tent forming an “X” as shown. (Fig. 1) Fig. 1 4. Insert one end of each black pole into pins in rear corners of tent. (Fig. 2) 5. Go to opposite end of each pole and gradually apply pressure to the pole forming an arch. Insert the pin into the pole end at the tent corners. (Fig. 3) 6. Stretch corners of tent until floor is taut Fig. 2 then hammer stakes through loops to secure. 7. Attach frame clips along edges of tent to frame poles (Fig. 4) To Set Up Tent (continued) 8. Assemble the interlocking shock-corded, gray, shorter pole. 9. Slide pole through sleeve on front of tent. (Fig. 5) 10. Pull down on pole and insert into center pin location on side of tent. (Fig. 6) 11. Go to opposite side of tent and gradually apply pressure to the pole to form an arch. Insert the pin into the pole. Fig. 6 Fig. 5 12. Attach frame clips along edges of tent to frame poles. (Fig. 7) To Attach Rainfly 1. Assemble remaining interlocking shock-corded rainfly pole (gray pole). 2. Drape rain fly over tent. Make sure end with two flaps is centered over the door. 3. Slide gray pole through sleeve in rainfly. (Fig. 8) Fig. 8 4. Insert one end of each rainfly pole into remaining pin in front corner of tent. Gradually apply pressure to other end of pole to form an arch & insert into other front pin. (Fig. 9) 5. Hook clips on elastic loops of rainfly onto rings on all four corners of the tent. (Fig. 10) Fig. 9 Fig. 10 6. Secure rainfly with velcro hook & loop ties located on underside of fly. (Fig. 13) Note: Flaps may be rolled back and and secured by inserting toggles through fabric loops. (Fig. 14) Fig. 13 Guylines 8. Attach guylines to web straps on rainfly and stake out. (Fig. 13) Door and Window Vents 1. To use the door vent, undo other zipper to expose vent, then roll up door flap and fasten with toggle and fabric loop. (Fig. 15) 2. To open back and side window vents for more ventilation, unzip, then roll up and insert toggles through fabric loops. (Fig. 16) Cooler Access The smaller zippered opening at the rear of the tent is designed for added ventilation and easy access to your beverage cooler. 1. To use as a vent, unzip flap to expose screen. (Fig.17) 2. To use as a cooler access, unzip other flap to make an avenue to bring beverages into the tent. (Fig.18) Fig. 15 Fig. 16 Fig. 17 Fig. 18 Fig. 14 Electrical Cord Access 1. Unzip access panel in the lower right corner of tent and bring in electrical cord. Use only UL approved cords that are rated for outdoor usage. (Fig. 19) Fig. 19 To Store 1. All metal poles and stakes must to be placed in the storage bag to prevent damage to the fabric items placed in the carry case. 2. Make sure tent is clean and dry before placing in carry case. 3. Remove rainfly, spread out on floor of tent, then unzip door & vents before taking tent down for storage. 4. Neatly fold tent to width of pole storage bag, place on tent, roll tightly, and place in carry case. 5. Store in a clean, dry area. Things You Should Know: • Under certain conditions (cold weather, high humidity, etc.) condensation will form on the inside of your tent. Condensation is caused by water vapor from your breath, perspiration, or any wet clothing inside the tent. It is NOT LEAKAGE through the tent fabric. It can be minimized by removing wet clothing from your tent and by providing good ventilation through the tent. • Never store tent, even for a short period of time, without drying it thoroughly and brushing off caked dirt. Do not pack stakes or poles inside your tent. Use a separate storage bag. • Stakes should be removed by pulling on the stake itself. Never pull on the tent to remove stake. • TENT POLES SHOULD NOT BE LEFT TELESCOPED TOGETHER DURING STORAGE. • Do not leave your tent set-up for weeks at a time. Be aware that exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun can seriously damage material and/or cause it to become discolored. WARNING: Keep all flame and heat sources away from this tent fabric.
