The CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION 3.17 OPERATION Using Automatic Sound Settings Your TV has four automatic sound settings (“Standard,” “Music,” “Speech,” and “Movie”) that are preset at the factory. Or, you can select “Custom,” which automatically recalls your personalized sound settings. 1 Press the Menu button. Also, you can check the time while watching the TV. (Just press Display.) Option 1: Setting the Clock Manually Press the Menu button. Move the joystick to the left or right to select “Auto”. 3 Move the joystick down to select “PBS channel”. Move the joystick to the right to activate the channel- number field. Move the joystick up or down to select your local PBS channel, then move the joystick to the right. 4 Move the joystick down to select “Time Zone”. Move the joystick to the left or right to change the Time zone. Sequence: ATL., EAST, CEN., MTN., PAC., ALAS., HAW. 5 Move the joystick down to select “DST” (Daylight saving time). Press the Menu button to exit. 3.20 CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION OPERATION Selecting a Signal Source (External A/V) You must select the appropriate mode in order to view the VCR or Camcorder signal on the TV. Make sure that the remote control is controlling the TV set. (Press the MODE button and make sure that the “TV” LED is illuminated.) 2 Press the TV/Video button. 3 Move the joystick up or down to highlight a particular signal source, and then press the joystick to enter. Press TV/Video to exit. When you press the TV/Video button, the on-screen display identifies all the active video sources (and their corresponding input jacks): CHAPTER THREE: TV OPERATION 3.21 Chapter Four SPECIAL FEATURES Fine Tuning Channels Use fine tuning to manually adjust a particular channel for optimal reception. 1 Select the appropriate channel. Press the Menu button. Move the joystick down to select “CHANNEL”, then press the joystick to enter. 2 Move the joystick down to select “Fine Tune”. 3 Move the joystick to the left or right to adjust the fine tuning. 4 To store the fine tuning setting in the TV’s memory, move the joystick up. (A heart icon will appear.) To reset the fine tuning to “00,”move the joystick down . Press the Menu button to exit.
