This produces a smooth, even surface. The advantages of this coating are: - It improves the sliding action across the hair. - The plates heat up much faster and stay at a constant temperature suitable for hairstyling. Operation . Plug in the appliance and place on a level, heat-resistant surface. • Turn on the appliance using the selector switch 1; the indicator light will light up. • The required temperature can now be set between 140 °c and 210 °c by rotating the variable temperature selector 2: - approx. 150 °c for fine hair - approx. 180 °c for normal/thick hair - above 180 °c for very thick hair Tip: Reduce the temperature for damaged hair (the ideal temperature is approx. 150 °c) to protect it. . The appliance heats up. . Press the heating plates together with less force, the pressure on the hair strands is monitored by means of the flexibly mounted heating plates. Note: The temperature settings are possible from 140 °C-210 °C are steplessly variable. Use Risk of burns! Never allow appliance to come into contact with skin (scalp or ears). You can use the hair straightener to straighten or curl your hair. – Only use the appliance on dry hair. – Only use on untreated, healthy hair or in combination with special straightening products. – Use less frequently on chemically treated hair (perm, colour rinse). Note: Extensive use can damage the hair. Fine hair responds particularly quickly to the treatment with the heating plates. Straightening your hair (Figures A) The appliance is suitable for both long and short hair. . Comb the hair and section it into even strands (about 5 cm wide). . Starting from the roots, place a strand of hair between the plates (Figure a). . Press the plates together and pull down gently and evenly toward the ends of the hair (Figure b). . Treat all strands in the same manner. Allow hair to cool completely before styling. Curling your hair There are three methods for curling hair. In all cases, the hair should be sectioned into even strands about 2 cm wide. The finer the strand, the tighter the curl. Curls throughout the hair (Figures B) . Hold the hair straightener level, place the strand of hair between the heating plates and close them. . Turn the straightener 180° and wrap the strand once around the upper heating plate. . Press the plates firmly together and pull the straightener down to the ends of the hair at a steady pace. . Now open the plates. Curls in the lower part of the hair (Figures C) . Hold the hair straightener level, place the strand of hair between the heating plates and close them. . Turn the straightener 180° and wrap the strand once around the lower heating plate. . Press the plates firmly together and pull the straightener down to the ends of the hair at a steady pace. . Now open the plates. Spiral curls for special hair styles (Figures D) . Hold the hair straightener vertically, place the strand of hair between lower half of the heating plates and close them. . Turn the straightener 180° and wrap the strand once around the free heating plate. . Press the plates firmly together and pull the straightener down tilted to the ends of the hair at a steady pace. . Now open the plates. N.B.: Make sure that the curl is not pulled straight when removing the straightener. Tip for a longer lasting hair style: Roll up the curl when it’s still hot and fix with a hair clip until cool. Permanent ionisation This hair straightener has an ionic generator that is always active. The hair can become electrostatically charged from combing, the use of hair care products or friction caused by the heating plates. The ions generated (natural electrically loaded particles) reduce this charging and make the hair easier to manage. Automatic shut-off For safety reasons this appliance is equipped with an automatic shut-off function. . The appliance switches off automatically 72 minutes after it was switched on or after the temperature selector 2 was adjusted for the last time. Note: Use the I/0 switch 1 to switch the appliance back on. Cleaning and maintenance Danger of electric shock! Unplug before cleaning. Never submerse the appliance in water. Do not use a steam cleaner. Wipe off the appliance with a damp cloth and dry off with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use strong or abrasive cleansers. Storage Allow the appliance to cool before putting it away. Fix the cord with the cable strap 4. Use the Lock [ ] / Unlock [ ] to close two plates. Do not store the appliance away if it is still hot.
