Ask your installer for advice. . Keep the appliance out of the reach of children. . Only use the appliance on dry or damp hair. . The barrel of the brush becomes hot during use. Prevent contact with the skin. . If the appliance falls into water, unplug it immediately and never use it again. . Wait until the appliance has cooled down before storing it. . Always unplug the appliance after use. . Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance. ENGLISH Preparing for use 1 Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir from the brush (fig. 1). 2 Fill the reservoir with water to the maximum level indication under a gently running tap (fig. 2). 3 Hold the appliance vertically with the brush end pointing downwards, and screw the reservoir back onto the brush (fig. 3). 4 Unscrew the reservoir a quarter turn and tighten it again to ensure proper fastening and to prevent leakage. Using the appliance B Before styling, comb or brush your hair so that it is completely untangled and smooth. B We advise you to perform a curl test to determine how long the brush should be held in your hair to achieve a good result. Start with 8 to 10 seconds.You may have to hold the brush in your hair longer for tighter curls. Less tight curls will require less than 8 seconds. 1 Insert the mains plug into the wall socket (fig. 4). The pilot light goes on and the appliance star ts heating up. . The appliance is ready for use after approx. 15 minutes. 2 Start styling when the ready dot on the attachment changes colour (fig. 5). 3 Take a lock of hair and wind it round the brush. Make sure the end of the lock is wound in the required direction (fig. 6). Do not wind too much hair round the barrel at a time. The thinner the lock of hair, the tigher the curl will be. Do not wind a lock of hair more than twice round the brush. Make sure the lock of hair is in contact with the barrel of the brush. 4 Activate the steam function by pushing the Cool Tip water reservoir into the barrel. Keep it pressed in for up to 3 seconds before releasing it (fig. 7). ENGLISH One push will suffice to set one curl or wave. 5 Hold the brush in place as long as required (normally 8 to 10 seconds) (fig. 8). 6 To remove the brush from your hair, push the button and slide the brush out of your hair (fig. 9). Make sure you keep the brush away from the underlying hair when you remove it. 7 Let the curls cool down before combing, brushing or finger- combing the hair to finish your style (fig. 10). Cleaning Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it. Never rinse the appliance with water. 1 Clean the appliance with a small brush or a dry cloth. 2 To prevent the build-up of scale, put 3-4 drops of vinegar in the Cool Tip water reservoir, top it up with water and plug in the appliance. After a few minutes, i.e. when the ready dot has turned black, activate the steam function for 3 seconds. Activate the steam function 10 more times, then unplug the appliance and rinse the Cool Tip water reservoir with fresh water. Storage Always unplug the appliance before storing it. . Unscrew the Cool Tip water reservoir and pour out the remaining water (fig. 11). . Put the appliance in a safe place and let it cool down before storing it. . Do not wind the mains cord round the appliance.
