1 Press (Copy) to illuminate it in green. 2 Load your document. 3 Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want (up to 99). 4 Press Options and ^ or Ў to select Contrast. Press Menu/Set. 5 Press ^ to increase the contrast. —OR— Press Ў to decrease the contrast. Press Menu/Set. 6 Press Black Start or Color Start. Sorting copies (FAX-1940CN and MFC-3340CN only) You can sort multiple copies. Press Menu/Set. 6 Press Black Start or Color Start to scan the document. 7 The machine scans document and starts printing. If Glossy has been selected in the Paper Type setting for N in 1 copies, the machine will print the images as if Plain paper had been selected. ¦ If you are producing multiple color copies, N in 1 copies are not available. ¦ N in 1 color copies are not available for FAX-1840C and MFC-3240C. Press Menu/Set. 3 Press Stop/Exit. MAKING COPIES 9 -12 Adjusting color saturation Adjusting color saturation . 4.Color Adjust 2 Press ^ or Ў to select Red, Green or Blue. Press Menu/Set. 3 Press ^ to increase the color saturation. —OR— Press Ў to decrease the color saturation. Press Menu/Set. 4 Return to Step 2 to select the next color. —OR— Press Stop/Exit. Out of Memory message If the memory becomes full while you are making copies, the LCD message will guide you through the next step. If the Out of Memory message appears, press Stop/Exit to cancel or Black Start or Color Start to copy the scanned pages. You will need to clear some jobs from the memory before you can continue. To gain extra memory, you can turn off Fax Storage. (See Setting Fax Storage on page 6-3.) —OR— Print the faxes that are in the memory. (See Printing a fax from the memory on page 4-10.) When you get an Out of Memory message, you may be able to make copies if you first print incoming faxes in the memory to restore the memory to 100%. 9 - 13 MAKING COPIES Legal limitations Legal limitations The following documents issued by the United States/Canadian Government or any of its Agencies may not be copied: ¦ Money ¦ Bonds or other certificates of indebtedness ¦ Certificates of Deposit ¦ Internal Revenue Stamps (canceled or uncanceled) ¦ Selective Service or draft papers ¦ Passports ¦ United States/Canadian Postage Stamps (canceled or uncanceled) ¦ Food Stamps ¦ Immigration Papers ¦ Checks or drafts drawn by Governmental agencies ¦ Identifying badges or insignias Copyrighted works cannot be copied. Sections of a copyrighted work can be copied for ‘fair use.’ Multiple copies would indicate improper use. Works of art should be considered the equivalent of copyrighted works. Licenses and Certificates of Title to motor vehicles may not be copied under certain state/provincial laws.
