The unit is powered by non grounded power adapter. When connecting to sensitive external equipment eg. Pre-amp, users should insure that the product is switched off before connecting. FM/SW/DAB telescopic antenna tool . AC adapter Grip the plastic piece on the bottom of the remote unit and pull it out. If the battery drains replace it with a CR/DL2025. 05 . 06 Installing The Backup Batteries Remove the rubber pad from the bottom of the radio and install 4 AA alkaline batteries [not included] following the installation diagram inside the battery compartment [1.1]. These batteries back up the time and alarm set in the radio in case of a power failure. Replace the rubber pad once they’re installed. In case of a power failure, if you have backup batteries in the radio, the display will show “CHECK POWER”. The batteries will keep the display and clock running for about 8 hours if the power fails. [1.1] ! Note regarding batteries ! Only use alkaline batteries. Do not mix different brands or types of batteries. Change your batteries once every six months. Check the batteries once a month to make sure that they have not leaked. Damage caused by leaked batteries is not covered by warranty. Powering The Radio Plug the Power Cord into a mains [AC] outlet, then into the 13.5 VDC, positive polarity socket on the back of the radio. For best results on AM and SW reception, the power sup ply should be positioned away from the radio. When the power cord is first plugged in or the ON/OFF button is given a quick press the display turns on into ON mode [2.1]. Using a quick press of the ON/OFF button will place it into STANDBY mode, with the time of day in the display [2.2]. Using a longer press, about 4 seconds, of the ON/OFF button will clear the display and turn everything OFF. [2.1] [2.2] [ENG] Instruction manual Volume Control Muting The Radio The volume is controlled with the volume knob or the VOL + To mute the audio while it is playing, use a quick press of . buttons on the remote.
