Medical Information Intended Use The VPAP Adapt SV system is intended to provide non-invasive ventilatory support to treat adult patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and respiratory insufficiency caused by central and/or mixed apneas and periodic breathing. This device is intended for use in the hospital or home. Contraindications The VPAP Adapt SV is not a life support ventilator and may stop operating with power failure or in the unlikely event of certain fault conditions. Before using the VPAP Adapt SV tell your doctor if you have any of the following conditions: • hypotension or significant intravascular volume depletion • acute sinusitis or otitis media • epistaxis (severe nose bleeds) causing a risk of pulmonary aspiration • conditions...
