Keep small children away fromthe kettle and never let the cord hang down over the edge of your worktop – a child could grab it and pull the kettle down. ELECTRICITY SUPPLY – Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage in your home. If not, please contact your dealer and do not use the kettle. – Always attach the plug to the appliance before plugging the cord into thepower socket. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet. LOCATION – Do not place the kettle on or near a gas stove, on an electric ring or in a heated oven or microwave. – Ensure that the kettle is used on a stable, flat surface. – This kettle is for household use only. Do not use it outdoors. USE – To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse the cord, electric plug or the kettle in water or other liquids. – Do not touch hot surfaces (especially the stainless steel surface). Only use the handle to pick up the kettle. – Unplug the kettle from the power socket outlet when the product is not in use or before cleaning the kettle. If the kettle is too full, boiling water may splash out. INSTRUCTION 3 – Always make sure you pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the spout of the kettle too quickly. – Avoid contact with steam emitted from the hole in the cap when the water is boiling or just after it has been switched off to avoid scalding. Be careful when removing the cap to refill the kettle when the kettleis still hot. – Do not forcefully hold the switch in the ON position or tamper with the switchto hold it in the ON position as this may cause steam to be ejected which could damage the automatic switch-off mechanism as well as cause personal injury. WARNING – When the water boils, steam comes out of the opening in the cap, as shown in the picture. Users shouldtake particular care when using the kettle as steam is very hot and can easily burn you. – Please make sure the power cord does not touch the metal surface of the kettle as it gets very hot during the boiling process. Power cord SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS AUTOMATIC ON/OFF SWITCH Your kettle is fitted with an ON/OFF switch which automatically switches off once the water has boiled. If the kettle has just boiled, wait a few minutes before re-boiling the kettle. Do not attempt to hold the ON/OFF switch in the ON position or adjust the switch mechanism. SWITCHING OFF THE KETTLE MANUALLY You can even switch the kettle off manually before the water boils, by using the ON/OFF lever (.). SAFETY CUT-OUT DEVICE The kettle is protected against damage from operating with insufficient water. A safety cut-out automatically switches off the power when the heating element gets too hot. If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, you must allow it to cool down for 10 minutes before refilling with cold water. The safety cut-out device will automatically reset itself after it has cooled down. 360° CONNECTOR BASE The 360° connector between the body (.) and the base (.) means that the kettle can be located at any point on the base.
