Children are not intended to operate this appliance. 7. Always unplug appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning and handling. 8. Do not operate the appliance without water. Should it be operated without water, the boil-dry protection will shut the power off automatically. Allow the kettle to cool before refilling. 9. Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact Aroma customer service for examination, repair or electrical/mechanical adjustment. 10. Do not use the base for other than its intended use. 11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces. 14. Do not place kettle on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. 15. To disconnect, turn any control to the “Off” position, then remove the plug. No other liquids should be placed inside the kettle. 25. Do not unscrew any screws on the kettle or power base or attempt to disassemble them in any way. 26. Do not move the kettle during the boiling process. 27. This appliance is for household use only. 28. Do not immerse this appliance or any of its parts, other than the removable filter, in water. 29. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. 2. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. 3. If a longer extension cord is used: a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. b. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled by children or tripped over unintentionally.
