ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION Packing disposal Sort packing into different materials (cardboard, polystyrene etc.) and dispose of them in accordance with local waste disposal laws. Warnings for safety and use This manual is an integral part of the appliance. It should be kept in good condition and close to the appliance for the whole lifecycle of the cooker. We recommend reading this manual very carefully before using the cooker. Also keep the set of nozzles provided. No warrenty claims can be lodged for any damage resulting from failure to observe these instructions. The installation must be carried out by qualified personnel and in compliance with current standards. This appliance is for domestic use and conforms to the eec directives currently in force. The appliance is built for carrying out the following function: cooking and heating food; any other use is to be considered improper. The manufacturer declines any responsibility should the appliance be used for purposes other than those indicated. Remove the packaging from the appliance and dispose of it properly. Do not leave any pieces of the packing unattended in the home. Keep packaging elements away from children. Separate the various packing materials and deliver them to the nearest recycling centre. Once the packaging has been removed check that the cooker is not damaged. If you are in any doubt in this respect, do not use the cooker. Thoroughly clean the appliance and accessories before using them for the first time. This will eliminate any "newness” smells and soiling (see also chapter "cleaning and maintainance). The earth connection is obligatory conforming to the modalities envisaged by the safety standards of the electrical wiring system. Electrical safety of the appliance can be ensured only if the equipment earth in the building installation has been installed according to regulations. The plug to be connected to the power supply cable and the relative socket must be the same type and must comply with current standards. After installing the appliance make sure that the plug is accessible to allow the periodical check-up. Do not pull out the plug by pulling the cable. Repairs must be carried out by authorised specialists, thus ensuring electrical safety. Isolate the appliance from the mains during every maintainance operation. To do this, remove the mains plug or actuate the corresponding fuse. Close the gas supply. In case gas taps are difficult to turn, replace the gas taps. Never open and regrease them. Contact the technical service for this operation. Immediately after installation, test the appliance briefly by following the instructions shown below. In the event of a malfunction, disconnect the appliance from the mains and contact your nearest technical service centre. Do not attempt to repair the appliance. As the user, you yourself are responsible for maintainance and proper use in the household. Only ever operate the appliance under supervision. Make sure that all the burner parts are correctly fitted. Only ever use the burners after placing pots and pans on them. Do not heat up any empty pots or pans; this may result in a build-up of heat. Use pots and pans with thicker bottoms because heat distribution is particularly improved in the low setting. The better the size of pots and pans is adapted to the burner size, the better the heat of the gas flame will be exploited and the more costs will be saved. Switch the burners to the low setting whenever you remove pots or pans briefly. In this way you reduce the risk of burns when working next to naked flames; you also save gas and reduce pollution. Each time you finish using the cooking hob, always check that the control knobs are in "zero" position (off). Never put inflammable objects into the oven: should it be accidentally switched on, a fire may break out. In the event of a fire: close the main gas supply and cut off the electric current. Do not throw water on burning or frying oil. Foodstuffs that are prepared in fat and oil must only be prepared under supervision. Do not store inflammable objects or aerosol cans near the appliance and do not spray near the burners when switched on. Do not wear baggy clothes or accessories that are not close to the body when the burners are switched on: serious injuries can be caused by burning fabric. Whenever the appliance is fitted under a vapour extractor hood, always cover the burners with pots and pans. Otherwise, parts of the vapour extractor hood may become damag...
