POWER SOURCES (2) CHARGING AND USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES This unit can fully recharge the specified rechargeable batteries, in approximately 15 hours. The rechargeable batteries (NOT supplied) should be recharged before they are used for the first time because they are low in power or they have not been used for a long period (over 60 days). 1. Open the battery compartment cover and insert two of the recommended rechargeable batteries (1,2V 650 mA), matching polarity. ALL BATTERIES MUST BE OF RECHARGEABLE MICKEL-CADMIUM TYPE. OTHER WISE THE BATTERIES MAY EXPLODE OR LEAK. DURING CHARGING, THE CHARGE INDICATOR (16) KEEPS ON. 2. Plugin the AC adaptor and set the Charge switch (19) to the ON position to start charging. 3. After 15 hours, please unplug the AC adaptor and the Charge switch (19) must be set to the OFF position. DO NOT CHARGE CONTINUOUSLYFOR 24 HOURS OR MORE. DOING SO CAN CAUSE THE PERFOMANCE OF THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES TO DETERIO RATE. NOTE: you may play DISC whilst charging the batteries. 4. If the operating time decreases drastically even when the rechargeable nickei-cadmium batteries are properly recharged, purchase a new set of rechargeable nicel-cadmium batteries. 5. When charging for the first time or after a long time, playing time may be reduced. In this case, cherge and discharge the batteries several times. 5 3781.qxd 02.07.03 15:38 Page 12 ENGLISH HANDLING COMPACT DISCS This unit is designed to play compact bearing the identification logo. Discs that do not carry this logo may not conform to the CD standard and may not play properly. Dirty scratched or warped discs may cause skipping or noise. Pay attention to the following: Handle the disc only by the edges. To keep the disc clean, do not touch the surface of the disc. 1. Discs should be returned to thei case after use to avoid serious scratches that could cause the leser pickup to skip. 2. Do not expose disc to direct sunlight, high humidity, or high temperatures for extended periods. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can warp the disc. 3. Do not apply paper or write anything on either side of the compact disc. Sharp writing instruments, or the inks used in some felt-tip pens, may damage the surface of the disc. DISC PLAYING Be sure to reduce the volume before plugging in or unplugging the hea phones/earphones. 1. Slide CD/RADIO FUNCTUION switch (20) to CD position. 2. Plug the cord from a pair of earphone into the PHONES jack (18). CAUTIONS: Listening at high power for a long moment could damage users' ears. 3. Slide the CD DOOR OPEN switch (12) to open the CD door. 4. Hold the disc with the label side up and press it onto the spindle until it “clicks” into place. 5. Close the disc compartment, press PLAY/PAUSE button (13), the disc will begin to spin, the display will indicate “40 sec” and then the total number of tracks and total playing time of the disc. Пока на дисплее мигает индикатор “М”, нажмите одну из пяти кнопок программирования радиостанций и выбранная вами радиостанция будет запрограммирована. Обращаем ваше внимание на то, что шаги 1 - 5 должны быть сделаны достаточно быстро. 6. Длятого, чтобы занести в память 4 других радиостанции, повторите шаги 4 - 5. 7. Каждая из пяти кнопок способна запомнить до двух радиостанций. Одну-для FM, другую-для AM. После выключения плеера запрограммированные радиостанции остаются в памяти примерно 30 секунд. ПРОСЛУШИВАНИЕ ЧЕРЕЗ НАУШНИКИ Для прослушивания через наушники установите регулятор уровня громкости (10) в положение "MIN", вставьте наушники в гнездо плеера (18), установите уровень громкости (10) на ваш вкус. ПОДКЛЮЧЕНИЕ К ЗВУКОВЫМ СИСТЕМАМ Вставьте кабель стерео связи в ЛИНЕЙНЫЙ ВЫХОД (9) и во входные гнезда CD/AUXзвуковой системы.
