Do not force the memory module into the slot in a wrong orientation, as it may cause damage to the slot and the module. We advise not to use your computer directly on your lap. The temperature of the bottom of the unit may rise during normal operation, and after an extended period of time, could cause discomfort or burns. . Provide adequate air circulation to prevent internal overheating. Do not place your computer on porous surfaces such as rugs, blankets, couches, or beds, or near draperies that may block its air vents. . Use only specified peripheral equipment and interface cables. Do not leave battery packs in temperatures above 60°C, such as in a car parked in the sun or under direct sunlight. . Certain rechargeable battery packs do not meet Sony quality and safety standards. For safety reasons this computer only functions with genuine Sony battery packs designed for this model. If an unauthorized battery pack is installed, the battery pack will not be charged and the computer will not function. . Keep the battery pack away from all sources of heat. . Keep the battery pack dry. . Do not open or try to disassemble the battery pack. . Do not expose the battery pack to any mechanical shock, such as dropping it on a hard surface. . If you are not using your computer for a long period of time, remove the battery pack from the computer to prevent damage to the battery pack. . If you have not used the battery pack for a considerable amount of time, the remaining battery life may become short. However, this is normal and does not indicate a malfunction, because the battery pack will gradually discharge over time even while not in use.
