Follow the instructions in What You Need to Know For Your Safety. 2. Close the display and place the computer upside-down on a clean, flat surface. 3. Remove the two M3 x 3-mm screws securing the hard drive. Each screw is marked by a symbol on the bottom of the computer base. 4. Slide the hard drive out of the computer. 5. Remove the M3 x 3-mm bezel screw and bezel from the hard drive. NOTE: Dell does not guarantee compatibility or provide support for hard drives from sources other than Dell. CAUTION: Before working inside the computer, read the safety information that shipped with the computer. For additional safety best practices information, see the Regulatory Compliance Homepage on at: CAUTION: Do not touch the metal housing of the hard drive if you remove the hard drive from the computer while the drive is hot. NOTICE: To prevent data loss, turn off your computer before removing the hard drive. Do not remove the hard drive while the computer is on in sleep mode. NOTICE: Hard drives are extremely fragile; even a slight bump can damage the drive. Secure the bezel to the hard drive with the M3 x 3-mm screw. 2. Slide the hard drive into the hard drive connector until the drive is fully seated. 3. Replace the two M3 x 3-mm screws securing the hard drive. 4. Follow the instructions in After Working on Your Computer. 5. Start your computer. 6. Install the operating system, drivers, and utilities for your computer, as needed.
