Disabling a device 1 Click the My Computer icon with the secondary button, then click Properties. The System Properties dialog box appears. 2 Click the Hardware tab. 3 Click the Device Manager button. 4 Select the device, click the Action menu, and choose Disable. A confirmation message displays. 5 Click Yes. Checking device properties Device Manager provides a way to view the properties of a device. If removing the memory card eliminates the error, the memory card may be faulty.
