Using a computer security lock A security keylock notch, located on the chassis of the computer, lets you connect a Kensington-compatible computer security lock. Wrap a computer security lock cable around an immovable object such as a table or handle of a locked drawer. Insert the lock into the notch and turn the key to secure the lock. Adjusting the volume Adjusting the volume on the computer is as easy as pressing some buttons. English EnglishEnglish 18 Acer GridVista (dual-display compatible) To enable the dual monitor feature of your notebook, first ensure the secondary monitor is connected, then, select Start, Control Panel, Display and click on Settings. Select the secondary monitor (2) icon in the display box and then click the check box Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor. Finally, Apply the new settings and click OK to complete the process. Note: This feature is only available on certain models. Acer GridVista is a handy utility that offers four pre-defined display settings so you can view multiple windows on the same screen. To access this function, please go to Start, All Programs and click on Acer GridVista. You may choose any one of the four display settings indicated below: Double (Vertical), Triple (Major at left), Triple (Major at right), or Quad Acer Gridvista is dual-display compatible, allowing two displays to be partitioned independently. 19 Acer GridVista is simple to set up: 1 Run Acer GridVista and select your preferred screen configuration for each display from the taskbar. 2 Drag and drop each window into the appropriate grid. 3 Enjoy the convenience of a well-organized desktop. Note: Please ensure the resolution setting of your second monitor is set to the manufacturer's recommended value. Acer disk-to-disk recovery Note: If your system is the multilingual version. English EnglishEnglish 20 Restore without a Recovery CD This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook.
