The 112E's 16-ohm impedance makes it compatible with any of the Classic 50s, Classic 30s, etc. Each enclosure has a detachable back section, the removal of which revoices the cabinet. However, to obtain maximum low-end response and cabinet-induced tone coloration, the back should remain intact. One particularly good application for this enclosure is in a situation where the room is too small to accommodate two (or four) twelve-inch speakers. In such an environment, the Classic 112E produces a high-volume tone at lower volumes (with cone distortion), because twice as much power is delivered to one twelve-inch speaker, as opposed to dividing the signal between two twelves....
