USE AND CARE INFORMATION • TIPS ON EVERYDAY USE AND CARE TEMPERATURE CONTROL: The freezer temperature can be adjusted by the Cold Control Knob. Freezer temperature will become lower as the control knob is set closer to the MAX position. Freezer temperature will vary depending on the quantity of food stored and the frequency with which the door is opened. Ice cream can be used as an indicator of freezer temperature. If it is too hard or too soft, adjust the Cold Control Knob accordingly. HOW TO DEFROST: Remove contents from freezer. Keep drip tray in place. Set Cold Control knob to OFF position. Defrosting may take up to several hours. To defrost faster: * Leave door open * Place pans of hot water on frosted shelves. * Wipe with warm towel or sponge NEVER USE A KNIFE OR METAL OBJECT TO REMOVE FROST OR ICE, AS THIS MAY SEVERELY DAMAGE THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM. When defrosting is complete, remove drip tray and dispose of water. Set Cold Control back to original position. FOR ALL CLEANING: Mix 2 tablespoons baking soda or 2 tablespoons of mild soap with 1 quart warm water. No strong cleaners, scouring powder or pads should be used. Do not put the defrost tray in dishwasher. • THINGS TO REMEMBER: 1. Allow 24 hours for your freezer to reach a new temperature setting. 2. The motor will start and stop often. It must do so in order to maintain the temperature you select. 3. Keep your freezer reasonably level. 4. Unplug freezer before doing anything with the electrical system. • BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE Read all Use & Care Information, as your questions may be answered. If not, find your model number (on upper back of freezer). Refer your model number and serial number to Absocold Corporation at (800) 843-3714 or (765) 935-7501. FREEZER IS TOO WARM: Adjust Cold Control. Make sure door is closed properly. MOISTURE COLLECTS ON THE OUTSIDE: Frequent door opening in highly humid conditions will cause this. Reduce door openings and reduce time door is open. Make sure door seal is tight. FREEZER IS NOISY: Make sure cabinet is level, and not touching a wall or other surface. Make sure condenser coils are free of lint and dust. Normal noises include refrigerant gurgling as it passes through tubes and the compressor clicking on and off. DANGER—ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD.
