This manual only gives some general configuration hints. Interface The Citrix ICA can be configured by using STC Connection Manager. Establishing a New Connection In order to establish a new connection to the ICA Server, the following steps are to be followed: Select "New..." option in the main GUI. • Select "Citrix ICA Client" and "ADD". • Select the Protocol to be used and enter the "Server Location" in the form of IP. • Choose if you want to connect to server for desktop or for published applications. • Once this is done, click on the button labeled "..." besides the "Description" and "Server" text boxes. If the server is found, its description will be shown in a separate window. Click on the description provided to select the particular server as the default ICA Server. • Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox is the first choice browser used in the Thin Client. Because of its superior performance and reliability, it is the primary browser used to connect to the Internet and browse various HTTP as well as FTP sites. It already has PDF viewer and media player integrated into it, thus making it a multi-functional application. Xterm Xterm is the terminal used in STC wherein we can execute local commands using a shell. It is the basic busybox shell that is used in the Xterm as the command prompt. The X-term can be used to perform all the functionalities that we can do from the various application GUIs. The terminal can be invoked from the start menu, desktop icon, mouse right click or from shortcut provided on the taskbar. We can also perform many functions with the Xterm using the local commands. One of them is to view the contents of a directory using the 'ls' command. Also we can use the commands like 'cp' and 'mv' for file management purpose. The Xterm is a shell similar to the Linux Terminal, but with far less number of applications. Opening a file/directory in the same/different window • Mounting/unmounting directories • View files • Renaming a file/directory • Creating a new file/directory • Viewing file information • Compressing / uncompressing files into/from zipped/tar archives and so on. • Shutdown This option is used to shut down, suspend or reboot the STC. It can be either done from the command prompt using the commands "shutdown" or "reboot", or using the shutdown interface as shown below. This interface is accessible using the start menu, mouse right click and from the power button of the thin client. The available options are as shown here The suspend button will make the system to suspend state. Once the system is in suspend state you can get back to your previous session without much effort just by pressing power button on thin client panel.
