The thermal protector will automatically activate at a predetermined high temperature ejecting hot water before resetting. This ensures that the pump does not become damaged. A Caution Follow the maintenance instructions specified in the manual. This machine has been designed for use with cleaning detergents supplied or recommended by the manufacturer. The use of other cleaning detergents may affect the operation of the machine and void the warranty. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Step 1 Attach the handle to the frame of the pressure washer. Align holes, insert bolts, and tighten with knobs. Step 2 Attach the gun/hose storage handle. Step 3 Attach the wand to the spray gun. Step 4 Attach the triple jet nozzle to the wand. Step 7 Attach the high pressure hose to the spray gun. Step 8 Connect the high pressure hose to the unit's high pressure outlet. Step 9 Connect the garden hose to unit's water inlet. Important! Do not run the engine with a high or low oil level as this can cause engine damage. If you have further questions regarding the engine, please refer to the engine's operating manual included with the unit. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: Engines controls shown may appear different. Step 1 Check oil level. Oil level should be level with the bottom of the oil filler neck. Be sure the machine is level when checking the oil level. (Refer to the engine's operating manual for seasonal grades.) We recommend that the oil be changed after the first 5 hours of use, then once every 50 hours. Note: Improper oil levels will cause low oil sensor to shut off engine. Step 2 Fill gas tank with unleaded gasoline. Do not use leaded gasoline. Step3 Connect garden hose to the cold water source and turn water on completely. Never use hot water. Step 4 Trigger the gun to eliminate trapped air, wait for a steady flow of water to emerge from the spray nozzle. Step 5 Slide the choke lever to the left to the closed position (on a warm engine, leave the choke lever in the open position). Step 6 Slide or turn the fuel valve to the on position. Slide the throttle lever toward the fast position. NOTE: HD 2700 DB has a ON/OFF knob. Turn fuel knob to “ON” position. Step 7 Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position. NOTE: HD 3500 DB has a has a toggle switch. Press to “ON” position. Step 8 Pull the starter handle. If the engine fails to start after 3 pulls, squeeze the trigger gun to release pressure, and repeat step. After the engine is warm and running smoothly, slide the choke lever to the right (open) and throttle to the left (fast). Step 9 Adjust pressure control to desired setting. USING THE ACCESSORIES The triple jet nozzle must be positioned to one of the two settings for high pressure cleaning by turning the nozzle tip. The pencil jet spray (0°) should be used for stubborn dirt. The High pressure flat spray (25°) should be used for cleaning over a large surface area. The third setting on the triple jet nozzle is used for the application of detergents. Dirtblaster® nozzle This wand features a 0° pencil jet which rotates 360° for maximum dirt cutting action, effectively increasing cleaning performance up to 50%. This wand combines the cleaning performance of a 0° pencil jet with the surface coverage of a wide angle nozzle. Not recommended for soft materials, siding, painted surfaces, decks or autos. ZL WARNING TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY, NEVER POINT SPRAY NOZZLE AT YOURSELF, OTHER PERSONS OR ANIMALS. WORKING WITH DETERGENTS NOTE: Detergents can only be applied in the “CHEM” setting. Step 1 To apply detergents the triple jet nozzel must be set to CHEM. position. Step 2 Adjust the dosage control at the beginning of the detergent tube for light (1), or maximum (6) detergent coverage. NOTE: Your pump may have a detergent control.
