The epilating head is especially suitable for the legs and with the exchangeable shaving head you can comfortably shave your underarms and bikini line. The well-proven epilating disc system pulls out even the shortest hairs (0.5 millimetre!) by the roots. The hairs that grow back are soft and downy. So no stubble! After epilating with the Satinelle 2 in 1, your skin will stay smooth and hairfree for weeks. You will make the best use of your Satinelle 2 in 1 if you familiarise yourself with the appliance. It is therefore important that you read these instructions for use carefully and look at the illustrations. English 1 I 2 in 1 II I 0 H G II 2 1 ICK Important • Check if the mains voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to your local mains voltage before you connect the appliance. • Regular cleaning and proper maintenance guarantee the best results and the longest life for your Satinelle 2 in 1. • Make sure the appliance does not get into contact with water • Do not use the Satinelle 2 in 1 epilating head on irritated skin or on skin with varicose veins, spots, moles (with hairs) or scratches without consulting your doctor first. The same applies to people with a reduced immune response, e.g. during pregnancy or when suffering from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency. • Regular massages with a loofah may help prevent ingrowing hairs. • Use of an epilator may cause the skin to become somewhat red and irritated. This phenomenon is absolutely normal and will quickly disappear. If, however, it has not disappeared within three days, you are advised to consult your doctor. • To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, threads, cords, brushes etc. • Keep the appliance out of the reach of children. • Only use the appliance in combination with the cord supplied. • If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged, it may only be replaced with a cord of the original type. Turn to your Philips dealer or the Philips organisation in your country for replacement. F Appliance plug G Cord H Mains plug I Brush Mounting/removing the shaving head and epilating head - Make sure the appliance has been switched off . - Remove the shaving or epilating head by pressing the ribbed section with your thumb (fig. 2) and sliding the shaving or epilating head off the appliance sideways, in the direction of the arrow on the back of the shaving or epilating head. - You can mount the shaving or epilating head on the appliance by sliding it onto the appliance in the direction opposite to that of the arrow on the back of the shaving or epilating head. Make sure the shaving or epilating head snaps home properly (fig. 3). Note: the shaving head and the epilating head can only be mounted on the appliance in one way. How to use the appliance Legs (epilating) • Make sure your skin is clean and free of grease and cream. Do not use cream right before you start epilating. • Epilation is easier if you have just taken a bath or a shower. However, your skin must be completely dry before you start epilating. • If you epilate for the first time, we advise you to try out the appliance on a part of your body with only little hair growth. In this way, you can grow accustomed to this epilation method. • Because the hairs are pulled out by the roots, the skin may be slightly sensitive after the first time of use. This phenomenon will decrease after you have used the Satinelle 2 in 1 several times. • After use you can apply a mild cream or body milk to your skin. This may help prevent possible skin irritation. - Insert the appliance plug properly into the inlet socket (fig. 4). - Put the mains plug in the wall socket. - Switch the Satinelle 2 in 1 on by selecting the desired speed (fig. 5, 6). Speed - Select speed I for areas with little hair growth, areas that are hard to reach and areas with bones directly beneath the skin (such as knees and ankles). - Select speed II for larger areas with a stronger hair growth. - Stretch your skin tight with your free hand to make the hairs stand upright (fig. 7). - Place the Satinelle 2 in 1 on the skin at a right angle (fig. 8), with the speed selector pointing towards you. Move the appliance against the direction of hair growth. Do not press the appliance against the skin. - To switch off the Satinelle 2 in 1, set the speed selector to position O (fig. 9). Underarms and bikini line (shaving) You can use the shaving head to shave the delicate parts of your body, such as your underarms and bikini line. With the shaving head you will obtain a smooth result in a comfortable and gentle way. - Mount the shaving head onto the appliance. - Switch the appliance on. We advise you to select speed I. - Place the trimmers and the foil on your skin. Move the shaving head slowly over the skin against the direction of hair growth while pressing it lightly (fig. 10).
