BSwitch the shaver on by keeping the small knob on the switch pressed-in and sliding the switch upwards. This security feature prevents the shaver from being switched on accidentally. BMove the shaving heads quickly over the skin. Make both straight and circular movements. BStretch the skin with your free hand. • This will bring the hairs upright and provide a closer shave. • Long hairs on the neck can also be shaved off in this way. Please bear in mind that your skin may need two to four weeks to become fully accustomed to the unique Philishave shaving system. Trimmer The trimmer has especially been designed for grooming sideburns and moustaches. • It is possible to switch the trimmer on while the motor is running. BPush the slide upwards to flip the trimmer out. 3 Cleaning BSwitch the shaver off. Use the small brush provided. It is possible to clean the shaving unit by means of a degreasing liquid (alcohol for example). Lubricate the shaving heads and the trimmer with a drop of sewing machine oil. Trimmer BAlways clean the trimmer after use. Lubricate the teeth of the trimmer every six months. Shaving unit • Every week. BClean the top of the shaving unit first. Remove the shaving unit from the shaver by pushing the release button. Then clean the inside. Shaving heads • Every 2 months. BDisassemble the shaving unit in order to clean the shaving heads. Release (1) and remove (2) the holder from the shaving unit. Clean each shaving head (cutter and guard) separately. This is essential since the cutter has been ground with the guard. If you should accidentally mix up the guards and cutters, it may take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored. Clean each cutter carefully by brushing in the direction of the arrow only, using the short bristled brush. Brush the guard clean. You have to lubricate the central point of the inside of the guard only if your skin is quite dry, or if you have degreased the shaving unit. Reassemble the shaving unit. You have to lubricate the upper side of the shaving heads only if your skin is quite dry or if you have degreased the shaving unit. Replacing the shaving heads Use only Philishave shaving heads (type HQ 4) to replace damaged or worn shaving heads. 4 Removing the battery The built-in battery is environmentally-friendly and does not contain cadmium, lead or mercury. When you discard your shaver in due course, please remove the battery and hand it in separately at an officially assigned collection point. BYou may take the shaver to a Philips Service Centre. The staff at the centre will arrange to reprocess the battery. BYou may also remove the battery from the shaver yourself. BUnplug the shaver. • Make sure that the battery is empty before you remove it. If it is not empty, run the shaver until the motor stops. BRemove the battery. • The shaver must never be connected to the mains after the battery has been removed. 1 Recharge BBranchez le cordon. Assurez-vous que la prise est bien enfoncee. Pile rechargeable Pour garantir une longue durabilite de votre pile rechargeable, nous vous recommandons de suivre les conseils suivants: • Rechargez et conservez votre rasoir a une temperature ambiante situee entre 5° et 35 °C. • Ne laissez pas votre rasoir constamment branche sur le secteur. 2 Rasage • Assurez-vous que votre rasoir est correctement recharge. • Il est egalement possible de vous raser en utilisant le rasoir directement branche sur le secteur. Lorsque la pile est entierement dechargee, attendez quelques secondes avant la mise en marche. • Faites attention que votre rasoir ne soit jamais en contact avec de l’eau. • Le meilleur resultat de rasage est obtenu lorsque la peau est bien seche. Il est donc preferable de se raser avant de se laver ou quelques temps apres. • La forme de l’unite de rasage est reglable. Commencez par la position 1 (pour les peaux sensibles), puis essayez d’autres positions pour trouver celle qui vous convient le mieux. BMettez le rasoir en marche en maintenant le petit bouton rond sur l’interrupteur appuye tout en repoussant l’interrupteur vers le haut. Vous evitez ainsi de mettre le rasoir en marche accidentellement. BDeplacez rapidement les tetes de rasage sur la peau en mouvements rectilignes et circulaires. BDe votre main libre, tendez la peau de votre visage. • Cela redresse les poils et garantit un meilleur rasage. • Les longs poils du cou peuvent egalement etre rases de cette maniere. Un delai de deux a quatre semaines peut etre necessaire a votre peau pour s’habituer...
