(If the controller will not be used for long periods of time, the battery should be recharged at least once every six months.) It takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery. NOTE: Recharging a battery that has not been fully PSdischarged shortens its life. 2 Insert the USB plug into the USB port on your PS3, which must be plugged in and drawing power. 3 Turn on your PS3. The battery starts charging and the PS button in the middle of the controller lights blue. When the battery is fully charged, the PS light turns off . Pairing your controller Before you use your controller, you need to pair it with your PS3 console. 1 Connect the USB cable between your controller and PS3 console. 2 Turn on the controller, then press its PS button. When the PS3 recognizes your controller, all the port indicators fl ash slowly. PS21432143When your controller has been assigned to a port, the indicator number for the port turns solid red. 3 Press the PS button again to assign a port number. Notes: • Pairing and assigning controller numbers can only be done when the system is turned on. • When a paired controller is used with another PS3 system, the pairing with the original system is cleared. Pair the controller with the system again if the controller has been used with another system. • If the controller or the system is turned off, the port indicators on the controller turn off and the assigned number is cleared. Programming the Rapid Fire button You can program the Rapid Fire button to perform a series of moves. 1 Press and hold the Rapid Fire button, the PS button fl ashes in red. 2 Do not release the Rapid Fire button. Press the button(s) you want to set to turbo. PS Rapid Fire button 3 Release all the buttons. The Rapid Fire button is programmed. PS Notes: • You can set different speeds of the Rapid Fire function. There are three speed levels. • The default speed is Quick when you first press the Rapid Fire button. • Press again the Rapid Fire button, the PS button will flash slower and the Rapid Fire speed is Medium. • Press the Rapid Fire button for the third time, the Rapid Fire speed will be Slow and the PS button will fl ash slowly. • Press again, the Rapid Fire function will be turned off .
