Changes the drive controlled by Front Panel buttons and Remote Control. BURNER Enter and Exit the Burner Interface, used to copy discs, tracks or files to the CD-RW drive. DVD / CD-RW Front Panel Functions ON / STANDBY DRV CH-RDV 2000 Recordable ReWritable Standby Power On / Off The front Standby Power Button sends the unit into, and brings the unit out of, Standby mode. Fast Reverse / Fast Forward Multi-speed scanning in forward or reverse Press the buttons continually to cycle through 2x, 4x and 8x speeds, and return to normal playback. Open / Close Push to Open or Close the disc tray. Stop Press to stop play but hold resume location. Press again to completely stop play and reset playback to beginning of disc. Play Press to begin Playback of the disc. Pause Press to Pause disc playback. Press repeatedly to step through one frame at a time. To continue normal playback, press Play. Previous Track / Next Track Advances to the next or previous track or chapter. DRV Selects the working drive. When the DRV button is pressed, the Remote Control and Front Panel functions will be transferred to the drive selected. 10 DVD Display Functions Display Functions The DVD Player Display shows current operation, disc type, elapsed playback time and other useful information. Some functions require specific disc formats or features. DISPLAY SLOW SUBTITLE AUDIO ANGLE POWER GOTO PBC SETUP OPEN/CLOSE TITLE DISPLAYMENU PAUSE ENTER PLAY STOP MUTE 1 2 2 OPEN/CLOSE1 Eject the Current Disc Open the disc tray to change the operation of the DISPLAY key to the DIMMER function. After removing the disc, you may close the disc tray to better see the front display. Press the DISPLAY Button Press the DISPLAY button repeatedly to cycle through the four brightness levels. 11 Back Panel Connectors Connections on the Back Panel The back panel is where you’ll find all the physical connections for the DVD Player. You will only use one Video and one Audio connection at any given time. For instance, if you’re using the Composite Video jack to connect to your TV, the S-Video and Component connectors will be unused. Component Video Connectors Y, Pr & Pb connectors for use with TVs compatible with Component Video. AC Power Inlet Insert the power cord here first. Then, plug other end to AC Outlet (100-230V). CoAxial Digital Audio Connector Use special CoAxial Digital Audio Cable to connect to Digital Receiver’s CoAxial Input. S-Video Connector Use special S-Video Cable to connect to TV’s S-Video In jack. 12 Connecting the DVD Player to your TV / Receiver Determining the Video & Audio Connections You Will Use The first step to using your new DVD Player is to make the cable connections that will allow you to see the video and hear the audio on your TV and optional Stereo Receiver. Your DVD Player has multiple Video and Audio outputs. Generally, you will only use one Video and one Audio output and any one time. The type of outputs you use will be determined by the capabilities of your Television or receiver. It is recommended that you use the highest quality output that your TV or receiver will support. Television Connections (One Required) In order to use your DVD Player, your TV must support at least one of the Video Input types shown below. To get started, identify the best Video Connection shown below that your TV offers and proceed to that section. If you are using your TV’s speakers for audio, rather than a separate receiver or amplifier, you will use the Stereo Audio In, outlined in sections 1 and 2.
