Press the RED button for a temperature of 13°C in the wine refrigerator, or press the WHITE button for a temperature of 8°C. These fixed temperatures cannot be altered. When you press either the RED or the WHITE button, the storage temperature for the relevant wine type will appear on the display for a few seconds, following which the display will return to showing the current temperature inside the wine refrigerator. MANUAL TEMPERATURE SETTING • If you require a different temperature, use the up and down arrow buttons as follows. (Possible temperature settings range from 4° C to 18° C.) • Press and hold the SET button until you hear a beep (around 15 seconds). • Press the up or down arrow to set the temperature you want; each time you press, the temperature changes one degree. • Once the temperature you want appears in the display, press SET to confirm the selected temperature. After you have set the temperature manually, the indicators for both RED and WHITE will disappear. • Please note: The selected temperature must be confirmed within 10 seconds, otherwise you must start again from the beginning. NOTE The indicator light on the wine refrigerator has 3 functions 1. It begins to flash just before the compressor starts up. 2. It stays on when the wine refrigerator is in cooling mode. 3. It goes off when the compressor is not running. ENERGY-SAVING TIPS • Avoid opening the door unnecessarily, particularly when it is warm and humid. • When you do open the door, close it again as soon as possible. • Ensure there is plenty of air circulation behind the wine refrigerator. • If ice forms inside the cabinet, energy consumption will increase, so you should remove it once it is 3-5 mm thick. • If the door seal is damaged, it must be replaced. AUTOMATIC DEFROSTING • It is not necessary to defrost the wine refrigerator, as this happens automatically. • When the compressor is running, ice may form on the rear wall. This ice will be defrosted and the water will be conducted away to a container above the compressor, from where it will simply evaporate. TROUBLESHOOTING THE WINE REFRIGERATOR The wine refrigerator will not cool: • Check the plug is in the wall and that it is switched on at the wall. • Check that the fuse / HFI relay is OK. • Check that the wine refrigerator is switched on. 4 The compressor of the wine refrigerator is running all the time: • The door is often open or is open for long periods. • The door is not fully shut, or the seal is damaged. • The wine refrigerator is overfull, or the compressor is inadequately ventilated. Ice on the inside of the rear wall: • The wine refrigerator does not normally need defrosting, but if, for example, the seal is defective, the door has stood open for a long period, or the contents were too warm, ice may form on the rear wall. If it reaches a thickness of 3-5 mm, manual defrosting is necessary. • Set the thermostat to stop, and leave the door open so the ice melts. • Do not use other electrical devices (hair dryer, etc.) to defrost the wine refrigerator. • Do not attempt to scrape ice off using sharp objects. • Once defrosting is complete, set the thermostat back to the temperature you want. FACTORY SETTING Programming to factory setting. • Press and hold the WHITE button, then immediately (within one second) the RED button, and hold these down for approximately 10 seconds until you hear a beep. The settings have now been returned to the factory setting. • This may be useful when troubleshooting the wine refrigerator. CHANGING THE LIGHT BULB IN THE WINE REFRIGERATOR • Remove the plug from the socket. • Loosen the screw holding the protective glass over the light bulb and remove this. • Change the bulb and then replace the protective glass. CLEANING THE WINE REFRIGERATOR • Switch the wine refrigerator off and remove the plug from the wall socket before cleaning. • Never use scouring powder, steel scourers or other strong cleaning agents to clean the interior or exterior surfaces of the wine refrigerator, as they may scratch the surfaces. • Instead use a cloth dampened with hot water, and add detergent if the wine refrigerator is very dirty. • A little vinegar may be added for cleaning the interior. • The plastic parts are not dishwasher-safe REPAIRS • Any repairs must be carried out by an authorised workshop. 4 sets 35 pieces ENVIRONMENTAL TIP • An electronic appliance should, when it is no longer capable of functioning be disposed with least possible environmental damage.
