Any attempt to remove or replace your battery will damage your headset. 3 basics basics a few essentials to get you started turn it on & off To turn on your headset, flip the boom to open (extended) position. To turn off your headset, flip the boom closed (folded under the headset body). wear it Your headset comes ready for the right ear. Just open the boom, flex the earhook and loop it over your ear. Make sure the speaker aligns with your ear canal, and the microphone is pointing towards your mouth. Note: To use your headset with your left ear, see “change for left ear use” on page 14. 4 pair & connect pair & connect connect and go 1 Turn off any Bluetooth devices previously paired with your headset. 2 Turn on the Bluetooth feature on your phone. 3 Turn on your headset (see page 4 for help). The indicator light becomes steadily lit in blue. 4 Set your phone to search for Bluetooth devices. 5 Select Motorola H720 from the search results on your phone. 6 Select Ok or Yes to pair your headset with your phone. Note: If prompted for the passkey, enter 0000. When your headset successfully pairs with your phone, the indicator light rapidly flashes blue and purple. reconnect After initially pairing and connecting your phone and headset, you don’t need to do it again. 5 pair & connect pair & connect For daily use, make sure your headset is turned on, and your phone’s Bluetooth feature is on. Your headset and phone will connect automatically! test your connection 1 Turn on your headset and put it on. 2 On your phone, dial a phone number and press the Call/Send key. If your phone and headset are successfully connected, you hear ringing on the headset. 6 calls calls it’s good to talk Note: Some features are phone/network dependent. To answer a call Press the Call button. ignore a call Press and hold a Volume button until you hear a tone. make a voice dial call Press the Call button and wait for voice prompt. redial last call Press and hold the Call button until you hear two tones. mute or unmute a call Press both Volume buttons. end a call Press the Call button. answer or reject second incoming call Use phone to answer/reject second call (follow your phone’s instructions). 7 talk time talk time check your chat time Press and hold both Volume buttons while not on a call. If light shows... your talk time is... red less than 4 hours purple between 4 to 7.5 hours blue up to 8 hours To save battery power, turn off the headset when not using it. 8 status light status light know your headset when charging If light shows... your headset is... red charging (battery level less than 50% charge) purple charging (battery level more than 50% charge) blue fully charged when operating If light shows... your headset is three blue flashes powering on/off steady blue in pairing/connect mode rapid blue/purple flashes connecting to your phone quick blue flash receiving or making a call slow blue pulse on a call slow blue flash in standby (not on a call) 9 status light status light If light shows... your headset is slow red flash idle (not connected to a phone) slow purple pulse muting the call steady red trying to connect to your phone quick red flash in a low battery state Note: After 20 minutes on a call or of inactivity, the light stops flashing to conserve power, but the headset remains on. 10 status tones status tones hear what’s happening Your headset is... when you hear... powering on an ascending tone powering off two descending tones receiving a call a ring tone at maximum or minimum volume two short tones when pressing Volume button in a low battery state high/low tones repeated every 60 seconds out of range of your phone no audio indications; deteriorating quality connected to your phone three ascending tones enabling call mute two rapid ascending tones disabling call mute two rapid descending tones 11 status tones status tones Your headset is... when you hear... in call mute status a low tone every 10 seconds 12 tips & tricks tips & tricks a few shortcuts To... reset your headset Caution: This action erases all pairing information stored in your headset.
