• Set up speakers (P.80) Speaker setup You can selectaspeakertype and its sizeto get the best sound effects. When the speakertype and sizeareset,the speaker crossover network and equalizer curveareset automatically. Touch [Speaker Select] in the Audio SETUP screen. 1 Speaker Select screen appears. Touch the speaker you wish to adjust and set each item as follows. 2 Setting Audio Touch [Audio SETUP]. Audio SETUP screen appears. See the following section for each setting. Subwoofer Selectifyouare usinga subwoofer. Tweeter You can set thetweeter whenyou are selecting front speakers. Ifyou are usingatweetertogether with the front speakers,set thetweeterto“ON”. In the“ON” position, theEqualizeris adjustedto its best position. X’over Displays the speaker crossover setup screen. You can adjust the crossover setup that was set automatically whenyou selected the speaker type. Fordetails,seeCrossover network setup(P.81). Return to the Top page Audio Setting Up Select a speaker size using [2] and [3]. The speaker size is different depending on the speaker type and the unit. Front Standard,Wide,Middle, Narrow Crossover network setup You cansetacrossoverfrequencyof speakers. Touch the speaker to set the crossover in the Speaker Select screen. 1 Touch [X’over]. 2 X’over screen appears. Set each item as follows. 3 Phase* Sets the phase of subwoofer output. The phaseisreversed 180degrees when setto “Reverse.” HPF FREQ HighPassFilter adjustment.(Whenfrontorrear speakeris selectedon SpeakerSelectscreen) LPF FREQ LowPassFilter adjustment.(When subwoofer is selected on SpeakerSelectscreen) Slope Setsa crossover slope. *Thisfunctionisavailableinthe specific situation. Only when“Subwoofer”is setto “ON”in “SpeakerSetup”. Only when“Subwoofer”is setto “ON”in “SpeakerSetup”and“LPF FREQ”is settoother than“Through”. Return to the Top page Audio Setting Up Car type (DTA) setup You can setup the cartype and speaker network,etc. 1 Touch [Car Type] in the Audio SETUP screen. Car Type screen appears. 2 Select your car type from the list. NOTE • Ifyour cartypeis selected, the DalayTime AlignmentandEqualizeris set automatically(for timing adjustmentof sound outputfor each channel)tohave the highest surround effects. Speaker location setup 1 In the Car Type screen, touch [Location]. Speaker Location screen appears. 2 Select the speaker locations using [3]. Car type adjust You can manually set the sound output timing of each channel. In the Car Type screen, touch [Adjust]. 1 Car Type Adjust screen appears. Touch the speaker you wish to adjust and set a delay time using [2] and [3] or slider bar. 2 NOTE • Make fine adjustment of the delaytime of the speaker output specifiedheretohavea more suitable environmentforyourvehicle. • The settings of the delaytime are automatically identified and compensatedbyspecifying the distances of each speaker from the center of the vehicle interior. 1 Set thefront andrear positions and the height ofthereferencepointtothe positionofthe ears of the person sitting in the front seat, and settherightandleftpositionstothe centerof thevehicle interior. 2 Measurethe distancesfromthereference pointto the speakers. 3 Calculate the distance difference in accordance with the farthest speaker. Controlling General Audio Touch [Audio Control]. Set each item as follows. 2 Fader #/Balance # Adjust thevolume balance around the touched area. [2]and[3]adjust theright and leftvolume balance. [5]and[.]adjustthefrontandrearvolume balance. Volume Offset* Finely adjustthevolumeofthe current source to minimizethe differenceinvolumebetween different sources. Subwoofer Level Adjuststhesubwoofervolume.This settingis notavailable when subwooferis setto“None”. SeeSpeaker setup (P.80). Bass Boost Sets the amount of bass boost among “OFF”/ “Step1”/ “Step2”. Loudness Turns the loudness control function on or off.Ifturned on,high andlowtonesare automatically enhanced duringlowvolume. Settable only whenzone function(P.86) is set to off. *Ifyouhaveincreasedthevolume first,then reducedthevolume usingthe“Volume Offset”,the sound generatedifyou suddenlyswitchtoanother sourcemaybe extremely loud.
