The bass loudspeaker is capable of producing excellent low-frequency response with minimal input power. The dividing network has a switchable shelving adjustment from 0 dB to —6 dB in 1.5 dB steps. Frequencies above 500 Hz are handled by a compression driver mounted on a sectoral high-frequency horn. The housing is a ported enclosure constructed of 3A-inch material. It is heavily braced internally and lined with acoustic damping material. The enclosure is finished in gray lacquer and includes a complementary black grille cloth. Typical applications for the 9845A include recording studio control room monitoring, remix studios, mastering rooms, audition rooms, broadcast studio monitoring and playback, auditoriums, nightclubs, conference rooms, theatres, and church sound reinforcement systems.
